Wait till next year
AC006199 will be on the Eamus Catuli sign across from Wrigley in spring of 2008 when we all come back and watch the Cubs try to once again do the improbable and win the world series. Tonight the 165 game wild ride came to an end, concluding with the 3 most pathetic baseball games I have ever seen. Geovany Soto was the only player that tried the entire series. The Cubs hit into 4 DPs all in crucial spots. Soriano finished the series with 2 hits and neither him, Lee, Ramirez, Floyd, DeRosa, Jones or anyone not named Soto hit a home run in the 3 games. Livan Hernandez who has nothing all game got the win while Rich Hill got his first career playoff loss. Stephen Drew, Eric Byrnes, and Chris (I’ll always be the 2nd Chris Young) Young went deep. The D’Backs move on to be eliminated by the Rockies (likely a sweep) in the NLCS.
See you in 08

You guys complained about Dusty Baker; however, Dusty ACTUALLY took the club to a greater distance. You do recall that the team made it to the National League CHAMPIONSHIP Series, don’t you?
Even though I’d really love to solidly establish the fact that Lou’s abilities as the team’s skipper are no greater than Dusty’s, I will not focus on that (as much). I will, nonetheless, blatantly state that the Cubs’ issues cannot be fixed by merely changing managers. Can I get an ‘Amen’?
dang what 2 do 4 the rest of the month good year
Stan, Dusty also ruined Prior’s and Wood’s arms.
Hilarious!!!!
The only reason you won the NL Central is because the Cardinals’ and/or Brewers’ injuries prevented them from winning it. The Cardinals came within one game, with half of the team being from AAA.
That just goes to show how mediocre the Chicago Cubs are. Oh wait, also the mediocre D-Backs –a team that the average person cannot name a single player for– swept you! And it wasn’t just a sweep, it was a reaming of pitching and homeruns. The D-Backs aren’t even a power hitting team.
Truly hilarious! Actually, what was truly hilarious was the look of disappointment last night a the bar! I almost got into a fist fight with a Cubs fan because he was so pissed. I bought him a beer and told him “Here’s a beer dude. Go ahead and cry in it.”
The Cardinals are still World Champions, and the Cubs officially have at least a century of hiatus from the Championship!
Hey Brent… if you wanna blame it all on injuries how about all that time the Cubs spent without Soriano and Ramirez? I agree that the Central was the weakest team in baseball but the Cubs till prevailed. Someone who can’t name 1 D’Back probably can’t name 1 Cub either brent. Not smart to try and fist fight someone who’s team finished in 1st while yours finished in 3rd. The Cards are World Champs for about 2 more weeks, enjoy it while you can.

P.S. A series between the D’Backs and Cards would have been pure comedy
Yay, a Cards fan. Enjoy your world series while you can. The Cubs won when they needed and made the playoffs unlike the Cardinals who had their chances.
