Cubs sweep Pirates but is it too late?

Carlos Zambrano pitched six innings of two run ball and the Cubs beat the Pirates 8-5 on Wednesday to finish off the three game sweep in Pittsburgh. Big Z didn’t want to come out of the game when Piniella came out to get him in the seventh but it was the right move as the Cubs went onto win the game. Is it a little too late however?

Wells picks up win #10 as Cubs beat Astros 4-1

Cubs starting pitcher Randy Wells pitched into the seventh inning as the Cubs beat the Astros 4-1 and evened up their series at one game each. Wells became the first Cubs rookie pitcher since Kerry Wood to record double digit wins in their rookie season. Let’s keep on winning and picking up ground in the wild card!

Harden hit hard in 5-3 Cubs loss

Rich Harden lasted just five innings on Monday night as the Cubs lost to the Astros 5-3. Harden had control issues all game long as he allowed six walks and five runs. It was not the outing the team was hoping for as they looked to pick up some ground in the wild card race with the Giants and Rockies both off.e

Harden helps Cubs avoid embarassing sweep

Rich Harden threw seven shutout innings and only allowed one hit as the Cubs avoided an embarrassing sweep from the San Diego Padres. The Cubs offense was led by Milton Bradley and Aramis Ramirez who both hit home runs in the 7-1 victory. Can they team build from this as they head to Los Angeles?
