Cubs are not a playoff team with Kevin Gregg being the closer

This time it was a rookie taking the meatball fastball thrower deep for a game winning three run home run as the Padres beat the Cubs 4-1. Gregg, sit your butt on the bench where it belongs and don’t get up!

The three game sweep for the Phillies was the first since 1984 for them at Wrigley. Will the Cubs start throwing the ball better and knocking in some runs?

Pedro Martinez pitched well enough and changed speeds nicely to keep the Cubs offense guessing at the plate. Four games back, can this team get on a roll anytime soon?
