Another day, another Cubs loss

The Cubs continue to struggle as they were beaten by the Phillies 6-1 on Thursday afternoon. The Phillies pretty much dominated the series at Wrigley Field. The three game sweep for the Phillies was the first since 1984 for them at Wrigley. Will the Cubs start throwing the ball better and knocking in some runs?

Another bad night at Wrigley for the Cubs

It was another bad night for the Cubs as the Phillies roughed up Jeff Samardzija and Sean Marshall for 12 runs in the first four innings. Pedro Martinez pitched well enough and changed speeds nicely to keep the Cubs offense guessing at the plate. Four games back, can this team get on a roll anytime soon?

Gregg gives up another home run as Cubs lose 4-3

It was a game that the Cubs could have won, but once again they shot themselves in the foot and lost a close one in 12 innings to the Philadelphia Phillies. Carlos Marmol walked in a run in the 8th inning and then Kevin Gregg gave up a home run in the 12th inning as the Cubs lose 4-3.

Cubs fall farther back in the standings

It was another ugly game for the Cubs on Monday night as they dropped a 11-5 setback to the Rockies as the two teams finished up their four game series. Tom Gorzelanny was charged with six runs and the Cubs could never slow down Troy Tulowitzki as he hit for the cycle and knocked in seven runs.
