Cubs look to close out the season on a high note

The Chicago Cubs look to close out the 2009 season on a high note as they have six remaining games on the schedule. I would expect to see a lot of young players playing the final six games while Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez shut it down for the season due to nagging injuries.

No offense and terrible defense hurt Cubs in 5-0 loss

The Chicago Cubs played another terrible game as they were shutout by the White Sox 5-0. Terrible offense and just as bad defense really hurt the Cubs. Alfonso Soriano really needs to think if he is really helping the team play or if he would be better off sitting on the bench and letting Sam Fuld play left field.

The Chicago Cubs had a decent weekend as they took two out of three games against the New York Mets. Carlos Zambrano stunk it up on Sunday when they were going for the sweep and now they find themselves 5.5 games out of the wildcard and 10 games out of the division. On the outside looking in…

The Cubs have yet another bad series

Randy Wells got tagged for five runs in the first three innings of the game as the Nationals beat the Cubs 5-4 and took two out of three games. It was just a bad series overall for the Cubs and the fans probably wish that the season were over now. I sure think that sometimes as I sit here and watch them play ball.
