Good morning Cubs fans. If you are like me, you have been paying close attention to the Winter meetings out in Las Vegas. Wow, what a time it would be to be at the Bellagio just sitting around people watching and hearing about all the rumors etc that are going around. That would be a bloggers paradise!

As far as the Cubs go. They met with free agent Milton Bradley in a hotel room on Sunday. Bradley could be that right fielder that the team is looking at, and he also hits left handed so he would would fit into the teams plan. I just have to wonder if the team needs another head case on the team similar to Carlos Zambrano? Bradley batted .321 with 22 home runs and 77 RBI in 126 games with the Rangers in 2008

We have heard that Cubs and Padres are very close on a deal for Jake Peavy. A few things need to happen before the deal goes down and that would be moving Jason Marquis and trading Felix Pie to the Orioles. The Orioles like Pie and would send the Cubs Garret Olson in return. The Cubs would then ship Olson onto the Padres and then the deal for Peavy would happen. The current names that could be headed to the Padres in the trade would be Josh Vitters, Sean Marshall, Kevin Hart, Ronny Cedeno, and a couple of minor league pitchers. One key name that is really being thrown around is Mark DeRosa. It is unclear is DeRosa would be part of a trade for Peavy but we will keep you all updated if we hear anything different.
