Ronny Cedeno fifth in Winter League batting

Submitted by Cliff on Friday, 6 January 2006 No Comment

Great news for Cubs fans, Ronny Cedeno finished the Winter Leagues with the 5th best batting average. Cedeno finished at .355 (60-169). He hit two home runs, nine doubles and four triples and drove in 28 runs in 45 games. Cedeno, who played both second and shortstop for the Aragua Tigres, also was charged with 12 errors.

Sure it isn’t the Major Leagues, but still good news since most of us expeny Cedeno to start at shortstop on opening day. Expect him to bat 7th or 8th in the roster but play some great defense.
