Patterson traded to Orioles
Well it has happend, the Cubs have traded Corey Patterson to the Orioles for a pair of minor leaguers: shortstop Nate Spears and left-hander Carlos Perez. We all knew Hendry was trying to get rid of Corey all offseason but I still don’t like it. Patterson was one of my favorite cubs and after a bad season give the man a chance to come back and have a strong spring training. Let his head clear and come back strong was all I was hoping for. I still think he is better then Jacque Jones who was signed last month.
I think Dusty Baker had a lot to do with Corey’s problems in the past year. I’m sure we will be saying goodbye to Dusty at the end of the 2006 season and I hope it does happen. I don’t see this team being competitive as long as Baker is making stupid manager moves and always moving players around in the lineup.
I’m still a Patterson fan and wish him the best in Baltimore. I hope he wins a starting job in their outfield and does very well. Good luck Corey! You will be missed by cubs fans.
