Alright here we go! Dusty actually has some faith in a young pitcher. He is giving the #4 spot in the rotation to Sean Marshall! Marshall got rocked last night in Las Vegas against the Padres so lets hope that doesn’t happen in his first few starts so Baker keeps confidence in the kid. He has a good arm, and is a lefty which also helps him out. He will make his Major League debut on April 9 against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Jerome Williams will now go to the bullpen and be the long reliver. Hopefully Williams will take this role as the team and make a start here and there throughout the season when needed.

John Koronka was traded to the Texas Rangers yesterday along with a player to be named later. In return the Cubs will be getting utility man Freddie Bynum from the Oakland A’s. Bynum that can play both middle infield positions as well as all 3 outfield positions. Bynum will be coming off the bench pretty much everyday, but gives the team more speed and options late in the games with double switches etc.

I like this pickup, Koronka really blew ass and I like getting another young fast player that can play more then 1 position.

The Cubs announced today that the newly renovated Wrigley Field bleachers will be officially named the “Bud Light bleachers.” I don’t have a problem with this happening and will be exciting to hear what announcers come up with when the home run balls are hit into Bud Light Bleachers. Now if they would drop the price of beer by about $2 it would be even better :)

Marquis Grissom called it a career today. I was hoping he wouldn’t make the team out of Spring Training so I’m happy for that. The Cubs need to get younger and play the young kids not 40 year old guys. Grissom did have a pretty good major league career so I will give him his props for that. Good luck to Marquis in the future.
