Hell ya what a way to end the weekend! I wasn’t able to catch the first two games as I was in Lincoln and Omaha but made it back early enough to sit down and enjoy the entire game tonight. First off Sean Marshall pitched a hell of a game for his Major League Debut. Sean gave up the 2 run homer to Rolen, but calmed down until the 5th inning when he left with the bases loaded. It was nice to see the team pick him up even though he got the no decision.

It was nice to see Jacque Jones finally get his first hit as a Chicago Cub and what a way to do it! Smashing that 3 run homerun to straight away center field. Ronny Cedeno really impressed me tonight with his hitting and great defense also. And of course you can’t forget about Mr. Clutch so far this first week of the season Michael Barrett! Way to blow the game open and it the winning grand slam!

It is going to be an exciting season for the Cubs so you better get your cubs tickets from StubHub if you haven’t yet! From Bud Light bleacher seats, to dugout seats StubHub has all the Cubs tickets for great prices!

Well today is the day! The Cubs play their first home game and the renovated Wrigley Field. With 1800 new bleacher seats, and the bleacher renamed “Bud Light Bleachers” the Cubs will be taking on the hated rival St. Louis Cardinals. Lets hope we can cool them down as the Cards have started the season 3-0 and Pujuols hitting 3 home runs during their series with the Phillies. I’m pissed that I will probably have to miss the first two games as I am traveling out of town, but hope to catch the Sunday Night game on ESPN. LETS GO CUBS!

The Cubs came out swinging and jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the 1st inning against the Cinncinnati Reds today. The big hit in the inning was Matt Murton’s 3 run homer. A great sign was seeing Juan Pierre triple to start off the game. It really made me thing when was the last time the Cubs had speed at the top order and someone that can get on base like that? I really liked what I saw!

One downside was the showing from Carlos Zambrano. Zambrano only pithed 4 2/3 innings giving up seven hits, 5 walks, and striking out 5.

ESPNRADIO1000 is reporting that Derrek Lee and the Chicago Cubs are close to signing a contract extension. Nothing is planned to be released today about it, but very well could be done this week. This is a big deal for the Cubs, locking up Lee for another 3-5 years hopefully.
