Well we have heard the bad news about Derrek Lee and his broken wrist. Looks like he will be out atleast 8-10 weeks and that is if everything goes good. Man these injuries suck so bad. Not sure what the Cubs will do as far as calling someone up from the minors but my guess is Brandon Sing. You can also expect to see Todd Walker playing a lot of first base and a combination of Perez and Hairston playing second base.

Well cubs fan had one thing go right tonight, the Cubs came in the 8th inning when Ronny Cedeno hit a 2 run single with two outs to give the cubs a 1 run lead. Cedeno also made a hell of a catch to end the game.

Derrek Lee update: Sounds like he has a sprained right wrist and will fly back to Chicago in the morning to have the Cubs doctors take a look at it. Hopefully it is just a mild sprain and he will only be out a couple of games.

Scott Eyre update: Scott has a knee contusion and that is all that anyone really knows right now. This injury could be worse then Lee’s and actually land Eyre on the disabled list.

Oh great here we go again. During the 7th inning of the Cubs / Dodgers game, Furcal bunts and Eyre dives to get the ball and then tries to flip the ball out of his glove directly to Lee covering 1st. Eyre flips the ball to high and Lee is just standing on first as Fucal runs down the line and runs right into him. Looks like something with Lee’s wrist but lets friken hope it is nothing series. Eyre also hurt his right leg on the dive and had to come out of the game. Lets hope that Lee’s wrist injury isn’t nothing serious and is in the lineup Friday night against the big series against the Cardinals.

Last nights game against the Los Angeles Dodgers did not go the Cubs way as they lost 2-1. The offense could only score 1 run in the 7th inning on Neifi Perez’s fielders choice. Carlos Zambrano pitched 6 strong innings and got another no decision. Will Ohman took the loss for the Cubs when he walked Kenny Lofton after being up 0-2 against him and then allowing JD Drew to hit the game winning single into the right field corner int he bottom of the 9th inning.

These are games that Cubs have got to pull out if they want to make it to the playoffs this year. You can’t lose in the bottom of the ninth, those are games that playoff teams win. Tonight is the rubber game of the series when rookie Sean Marshall (1-0) takes on Brad Penny (2-0) This is going to be a tough game for the Cubs I think going against Penny. Hopefully the offense will be able to score 5-6 runs and Marshall be able to pitch 6-7 strong innings and get the Cubs the win!
