Community Involvement
Among his charitable activities in 2005, delivered baby blankets
to a local hospital, participated in the Chicago Special Olympics
Opening Ceremonies, attended the kickoff of the Training Academy
Summer Camps at Brookfield Zoo ... during the 2004 season, attended
a food re-pack at the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the White
Sox Training Academy kickoff at Brookfield Zoo and the Boys and
Girls Club Holiday Party at U.S. Cellular Field.
2006 Highlights:
Finished second on the White Sox with 14 holds, but also watched
his record dip to 1-2 with an inflated 5.17 ERA over 70 games.
Yielded 64 hits over 54 innings, along with 12 home runs, compared
to just one long ball allowed in 2005. His earned run average
was 2.79 on the road and 7.39 at home. Picked up his only win
on July 1 against the Cubs. Earned his first Major League save
on April 30 at the Angels. First batters were 14-for-64 (.219)
against Cotts, but 20-of-65 inherited runners scored for a 30.8
percentage.
