Mark Prior will pitch Monday in Peoria

Submitted by on Monday, 29 May 2006 No Comment

Chicago Cubs pitcher Mark Prior will make his first Minor League rehab start on Monday for Class A Peoria.  Prior and the Cubs have been patiently waiting for the right-hander to get back in the Cubs’ rotation this year. He had a strained muscle in his right shoulder in mid-March, which resulted in the delay.

Well this is finally some good news for Cubs regarding Mark Prior.  Once thought to be the ace of the staff and help the Cubs reach the playoffs, Prior has never really been the same since he collided with Giles of the Atlanta Braves a few years ago.  Freak injuries and illness has really slow Mark down the past few years.  Still one of the nicest Cubs you can talk too, Prior has a lot to prove the rest of the year to Cubs fans in my opinion.

Good Luck Mark, Cubs Fans are rooting for you!
