Mark DeRosa traded to the Indians – Cubs sign Aaron Miles
Just as we talked about last night, the Chicago Cubs traded Mark DeRosa on Wednesday. DeRosa is being traded to the Cleveland Indians for three pitching prospects. The Cubs will be getting Jeff Stevens, Chris Archer and John Gaub from the Indians.
I really expect these three pitchers or atleat two of them to be sent to the San Diego Padres now in a deal for Jake Peavy. The Padres have always wanted pitching and the Cubs have seemed to get those players for them. However, the Peavy deal won’t happen until the new ownership takes over and agrees to take on his contract. This could come down to spring training or into spring training.
I am now a Indians fan in the American League with Derosa and Kerry Wood both on the team.
The Cubs have also signed utility player Aaron Miles to a two-year contract worth close too $5 million. What the hell is what I’m thinking with this signing. Miles for $2.5 million per season? WOW what a stupid move.
What’s everyone’s thoughts on these deals? I bet you are thinking what I am thinking and that is WTF?!?!
