| Jose was added to the Cubs' 40-man
roster in November 2005...he was signed as a non-drafted free
agent in May 1999 and has spent his six-year career in the club's
minor league system...has played for two league championship teams
during his career, as Mesa (R) won the Arizona league title in
2002 and Lansing (A) was awarded the Midwest League title in 2003.
2005 Highlights:
Jose spent the entire season at West Tenn (AA) where he hit .257
in 97 Southern League games...had 23 multi-hit contests ... including
a season-high three-hit affair April 28 at Mississippi...drove
in three runs June 1 at Tennessee and July 9 at Carolina - ended
the season with a career-high 50 RBI. |
