Cubs rally falls short as they lose 3-5
Once again, the Cubs could not get the key hit that the needed throughout the game. The Cubs bats didn’t come alive until the 9th inning today and they still fell short by a few runs to the Florida Marlins.
Sean Marshall thres 6.1 innings and gave up two earned runs and deserved much better but the offense was dead for eight innings and was not able to score any runs for the pitching staff. Scott Eyre sucked it up once again as Lou put him right back out there but he didn’t respond very well once again.
The Cubs gave us all a little bit of hope in the ninth as they scored three runs, and had the game winning run at the plate when Aramis Ramirez struck out to end the ballgame.
Why can’t this team get it going earlier in the game we have to ask? If they ever did get a rally going, it was always with two outs. You have gotta get a few guys on with 0 outs and then have a few hits to score the runs. It’s too hard to do everything with two outs, or in the ninth inning.
