Cubs gets swept by the Marlins

Submitted by Cliff on Wednesday, 30 May 2007 2 Comments

Yee Yaw, what else can we say about this Cubs team right now?  No offense and terrible pitching have put this team into a big time slump.  No body can do anything and if we do get a decent game the bullpen just blows it in the late innings.

It’s hard to be a Cubs fan right now.  We were so excited to watch this team play and figured they would be scoring some runs and getting some wins, but nothing is happening at this point in the season.

Just like tonight, the Cubs got crushed 9-0 by the Florida Marlins because of terrible pitching and no offense what so ever.  Ted Lilly (4-3) gave up six runs (five earned) on seven hits over seven innings, and lost for the first time since April 20. The left-hander came into the game having given up only four home runs over 64 2/3 innings; he served up three Wednesday.

The Cubs held a players only meeting before the game, but it didn’t stop their losing ways. They’ve now lost eight of their last 10 games, and were shutout for the second time this season.

It’s tough to look right now because we have the Atlanta Braves coming into town for a series on Friday.  The only good thing is that the Central Division sucks just as bad as the Cubs do lol.  So the Cubs are still only six games out of first place and if we can somehow get it to within 2-3 games by the All-Star break I would be happy!

Are you disgusted with this Cubs team and have extra tickets to Cubs game?  Why not sell them to other Cubs fans where you can make some nice money in return? Click here to list your tickets at StubHub!

This season it full of disappointment. There not much else to say. It can get any worse of can it?

We will have to see what happens in the next few weeks. Stay within 5 games of the division and we will be ok going into August to be honest.

The central division is that bad this year.
