Anoher game that came down to the wire and the Cubs were once again on the wrong side of a one-run ballgame.

Michael Wuertz served up the game winning homerun to Jason Bay in the bottom of the 8th that gave the Pirates the 3-2 win over the Cubs.

Cubs start Rich Hill had another great outing as he went seven innings, two runs on six hits. He had his curveball working and was lights out for most of the game.

The offense just wasn’t there to score runs when they had the chance. Alfonso Soriano, Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez each had two hits for the Cubs.

The Cubs and Pirates will battle it out again tonight in Pittsburgh. Hopefully the Cubs can get back on the winning track and begin another winning streak.
