with the Cubs in November 2005 ... the right-handed reliever has
seen big league action with three other clubs, as he has pitched
in the majors for the Chicago White Sox (1998-2002), Boston (2002-2003)
and Cleveland (2004-2005) ... has worked solely out of the bullpen,
going 25-26 with 107 holds and 52 saves in 434 games - all while
limiting opponents to a .235 batting average ... began his professional
career after being selected in the fifth round of the June 1994
draft out of McNeese State University (LA) ... attended Yavapai
Junior College in Prescott, Ariz., and was on the team that won
the Junior College World Series in 1993 ... graduated from Deer

Howry set a career high for appearances (84). He held opponents
scoreless in 66 of those outings, and led the team with 21 holds.
He tied Ted Abernathy (1965) and Dick Tidrow (1980) for first
