The Chicago Cubs left the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning as they were unable to come up with a big hit against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers beat the Cubs 2-1 as the two teams opened up a four game series at Wrigley Field on Thursday night. Let’s get those bats going guys!
Big Carlos Zambrano went off on a big tirade after being ejected in the seventh inning but the Cubs still beat the Pirates 5-2 and took two out of three games in the series. Zambrano acted as if he ejected the umpire, threw a ball out into left field, and also smashed up the poor gatorade dispenser in the dugout with a bat!
I just read Bruce Miles’s blog over at the Daily Herald and he said that Jake Fox will be called up before this afternoons game against the Pirates. Aaron Miles could be headed to the disabled list or Neal Cotts could be optioned down to Triple A Iowa. Which move would you prefer?
The Chicago Cubs finally scored some runs but the Pittsburgh Pirates still beat them by the score of 10-8 on Memorial Day at Wrigley Field. Ryan Dempster only lasted four innings and gave up six runs as he had a terrible game. The bullpen wasn’t any better thanks to Neal Cotts and Aaron Heilman. Losing streak is now eight games.
