Aramis Ramirez 6 RBI’s lead Cubs past the Pirates 13-8
The wind was blowing out of Wrigley Field Friday afternoon and Aramis Ramirez and the Chicago Cubs took advantage of it during a 13-8 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Ramirez delivered with two 3-run homeruns which both of them gave the Cubs a three run lead at the time. Â Ramirez finished the day going 2-5 with the two homeruns and six rbi’s. Â Alfonso Soriano led off the game with yet another homerun from the lead off spot and Geovany Soto then connected in the sixth inning as well with a shot to left field.
It was a good thing the Cubs were able to hit all of those homeruns today since Jason Marquis stunk it up and only lasted 2.2 innings while giving up eight hits and seven earned runs. Â Definately not the performance we wanted to see out of Marquis today as he is slated to pitch the game at the end of the season if the Brewers and Cubs are still tied.
The Cubs bullpen held on when they needed to and the Cubs went on for the victory and that is what really matters. Â We need to win the final two games of this series with the Pirates and hope the Brewers struggle down in Atlanta!
GO CUBS GO!
