Cubs look to close out the season on a high note

The Chicago Cubs look to close out the 2009 season on a high note as they have six remaining games on the schedule. I would expect to see a lot of young players playing the final six games while Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez shut it down for the season due to nagging injuries.

Is it time to put a cork on the 2009 season?

Ah, the up and downs of the baseball season. Another year where the Cubs have teased their fans with an up and down season to only see them falter towards the end. Know I ask Cubs fans if you would rather have a season like this, or get swept in the playoffs when your hopes were high for a World Series champion?

Cubs sweep Pirates but is it too late?

Carlos Zambrano pitched six innings of two run ball and the Cubs beat the Pirates 8-5 on Wednesday to finish off the three game sweep in Pittsburgh. Big Z didn’t want to come out of the game when Piniella came out to get him in the seventh but it was the right move as the Cubs went onto win the game. Is it a little too late however?

“Untuck ‘em”: Fielder’s antics lead classless Brewcrew
