Free swinging Cubs shutout 3-0

Eh, what a terrible game on Tuesday night for the Cubs. The free swingers were shut out by Joel Pineiro who tossed a complete game three hit shutout as the Cardinals took the first game of the series 3-0. That’s what happens when you swing at pretty much every pitch… Patience guys!

Astros get the win on Sunday

Blah, what a bad loss on Sunday for the Cubs as they dropped a 6-5 decision to the Astros and split the rain shortened two game series. The game was pretty much decided in the top of the seventh inning when Jose Ascanio hit two batters and and allowed the Astros to score two insurance runs which proved to be huge.

Cubs overcome bullpen disaster for 5th straight win

Randy Wells was robbed of his 1st major league win by the Cubs bullpen once again today, namely Kevin Gregg. Wells pitched 6 shutout innings in his 2nd major league start and is still yet to allow a run this season, but Kevin Gregg was charged with 4 runs in the 9th and Wells was given another no-decision. Good thing Alfonso Soriano saved the day in the bottom of the ninth.

Cubs and Astros Rained Out

The Cubs and Astros were set to start a three game weekend series at Wrigley Field Friday afternoon but that has been pushed back due to rain. Fridays game has been postponed due to rain and will be made up on July 30th. Now what will we all do with our Friday afternoon?
