More offensive struggles as Cubs lose again

The Cubs bats are officially ice cold! Once again the Reds pitching staff shut down the Cubs offense as the Reds finished off the series with a 7-1 victory. It was the first series loss for the Cubs in the season and they need to play better defense and hit better down in St. Louis or it’s going to be a very long series.

Cubs are shutout by the Reds 3-0

Ted Lilly pitched seven strong inning and only allowed one run to the Reds but the Reds were able to come away with a 3-0 victory on Wednesday night. The Cubs offense could not figure out Johnny Cueto and only had six hits on the night. Milton Bradley and Kevin Gregg continue to suck.

Hoffpauir and Ramirez lead the Cubs to 7-2 win

After two days off, the Cubs came back on Tuesday night and kicked off a three game series with the Cincinnati Reds and they got off on the right track with a 7-2 victory. It was a great way to start the series even though Lou had to use a few guys out of the bullpen that he would rather not have.

Thanks to Major League Baseball and the stupid blackout rules involved with FOX’s game of the week, and I was able to watch zero Cubs baseball over the weekend. Get rid of the stupid blackout rules on Saturday afternoons I say, especially when I shell out good money for MLB Extra Innings…
