After allowing the Dodgers to go up 7-0 after three innings, the Cubs game back to win in 11 innings.  Pitch runner Juan Mateo scored on Cesar Izturis’s single up the middle to give the Cubs the lead.  It was so funny watching Mateo run from second base to score.

Now to the ugly part of the game, yeah the Cubs gave up seven quick runs but the six errors in the game didn’t help either.  It was the first time in 24 years that the Cubs have committed six errors in one game.

The Cubs and Dodgers battle again today with Angel Guzman going against Brad Penny.

Not too many Cubs games left this year, you better get your tickets and watch the Cubs a few more times!  Home and road games available!

Ok, so I have been out of town for the past 3 days and haven’t watched one inning of Cubs baseball so I really have no game reports.  What I do know is, the Cubs really do suck!  They have lost 9 straight and are on the verge of going 0-7 against the Braves this year.  They were already swept all year long by the Padres and now it could happen against the Braves.

The Cubs are now 56-87 on the year.  They have not lost 10 games in a row since September of 2000 when Don Baylor was the manager.  Will the Cubs win tomorrow?  Don’t bet on it lol!  I don’t know what else to really say right now, other then the Cubs really do suck!

The Chicago Cubs acquired right-handed pitcher Adam Harben from the Minnesota Twins to complete the trade which sent Phil Nevin to Minnesota on August 31. Also, the Cubs have recalled right-handed pitcher Jae Kuk Ryu and catcher Jose Reyes from Triple-A Iowa while right-handed pitcher Jerome Williams has been claimed off waivers by the Oakland Athletics.

Carlos ZambranoWhat is this season coming too?  It seems that the Cubs have had more injuries and trips to the disabled list then wins.  This time it is Carlos Zambrano who was stiff and could never get lose during warmups but never told anyone and went out and pitched 1 and 1/3 innings.  The Cubs could never respond from that and lost the game 5-4 to the Pirates.

After the game, Zambrano said his season could be over because of the injury.  He was to be looked at by a doctor on Tuesday.  Big Z trying to be the hero, but sometimes he needs to be a little bit smarter and realize the Cubs aren’t going anywhere this year and play it safe.

Michael BarrettThe Cubs’ injuries continued to mount as catcher Michael Barrett was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with an intrascrotal hematoma.  Barrett was injured in the fifth inning on Saturday when he was hit in the groin by a ball during San Francisco pitcher Matt Cain’s at-bat. Barrett stayed in the game, and even hit in the Cubs’ fifth, but had to leave because of the pain.

It is unknown at this time if Barrett will return this season.  My opinion is to just let him rest and not come back early and aggrivate the groin to where he could miss time during spring training.

Phil NevinWe all figured that Phil Nevin or John Mabry would still be traded this off season to a team that needed some “pop” for their playoff run.  Nevin who was already traded once this year to the Cubs, is now on his way to the Minnesota Twins.  It should be a good fit for Nevin, who will play some corner outfield as well as DH for the Twins.  We wish Phil the best, and I personally enjoyed watching him with the Cubs.
